Raya Blues

This year, we celebrated the first three days of raya in Melaka. Everyone was there, except Acik and Fariq who were in Dubai and could not make it.

During raya eve, the bigger boys were a bit worked up on fireworks, but the noises were too much for the smaller boys, Emmen and Daanish. So, they spent the eve indoors playing each other's iPad. It was just too cute.

That morning, as usual, everyone gathered at the main table after the raya prayer for some serious food. The rendangs were a bit off this year, but that didn't spoil our day. Also that morning, we found out that the unplanned theme was blue because surprisingly, everyone's baju raya was blue.

After what felt like the biggest breakfast of the year (exaggerating?), it was pictures and duit raya time! We also celebrated Emiel's 14th birthday with a cake from Secret Recipe. I've got to say, cake and hari raya just don't go hand in hand.

We then drove down to Sungai Siput to visit the uncles and aunts. Unfortunately, the Lohs had to rush home because their house alarm triggered and made them worried sick. Luckily, their house was only an hour away. They recently moved to KL before Ramadhan.

We got Fariq's family and Weda, Anas and little Ammar over on the second day. And yesterday, we visited Mama Ana in USJ and Cik Nana in Shah Alam. Today, we had Laksa Johor at Mak Su's in Kelana Jaya.

Nothing extraordinary, but precious nonetheless.
