Ayra started going to school last year, a couple of months before she turned 3. There were only five other kids in the class, three girls and two boys. So, she had no trouble remembering what their names were.
This year, the class grew. Ayra now has 17 classmates. For the first few weeks, she described her friends based on the color of their faces.
"Today, I ate with 'White Face'."
"'Brown Face' cried, she wanted her mommy."
Thank God she stopped doing that.
She now learns their names and everyday, she would come home telling us the name of a new friend she had made that day. Some of the names I can recall were Fira, Mia, Alisha, Amanda, Elayna, Shamin, Anna, and Aris. And everyday, her best friend changes.
