Federal Day is celebrated every 1st of February and it is a public holiday for KL, Putrajaya and Labuan only. It's one of the public holidays my wife and I look forward to every year because neighboring states have to work and we don't.
Working from home has been crazy. Although we're always at home, we are hardly
at home. It's impossible to be away from the laptop for even 30 minutes. So, we decided to celebrate Aleesa's third birthday a day earlier in order to thoroughly focus our day on the birthday girl.
MCO 2.0 was announced earlier. So, we were prepared to celebrate at home.
What's for Breakfast?
We wanted to celebrate over breakfast. So, I made everyone a special one; Crunchy French toasts with vanilla bean ice cream and mini egg sandwiches with caramelized onions.
Daanish and Ayra helped to setup and decorate our tiny backyard for the celebration. Aleesa put on her favorite dress and came downstairs with her eyes closed. When she opened her eyes, she looked puzzled, but excited to see the decorations and the bunny birthday cake she had picked earlier.
After breakfast, it was time to unwrap the presents. My wife bought all the presents online. I guess MCO does have its perks. For one, it prevented my wife from going out and hence not buying the presents from Toys 'R' Us. So, we got more by spending less. We all know how expensive Toys 'R' Us is.
We played with Aleesa and all of her presents immediately after unwrapping them. She was as happy as a clam at high water.
Littlest One Isn't So Little Anymore
3-year-old Aleesa knows her ABC's and numbers. She is very smart and always wants to do things on her own. She loves the weekly movie nights and copying whatever her brother and sister do. She loves water and getting her to leave the pool is sometimes exhausting.
We love you very much, Aleesa. Although you came into our lives a wee bit earlier than planned (and hence, your birthday is earlier in the year, unlike the rest of us), we could not have asked for anything different.
