Is It Movie Night?

As weekend approaches, the one thing we look forward to are the movie nights. It has become a weekly ritual. "Is it movie night?" is Aleesa's favorite question to ask because she just loves them (although, more often than not, she'd fall asleep halfway).

In the past, we used to bring down a couple of mattresses, blankets and pillows and just "camp out" in front of the TV in the living hall until morning. Fun, but a lot of work.

In our house, there is no TV in any of the bedrooms.

Last year, I bought a mini projector for RM124 from Shopee. We've been having movie nights in the master bedroom ever since.  Everyone would snuggle up in bed while Aleesa screams, demanding her personal space. The only downside is that we cannot have any snacks during the movie.

For the price I paid, the picture quality produced by the mini projector isn't half bad.

We've Watched Over 100 Movies So Far

We just finished watching all the X-Men movies. My wife and I have watched them before, but we didn't bother unraveling the complicated timeline. Of course, we watched them based on the release dates.

This time, we watched them with our kids in chronological order, the way they're meant to be watched. I've to admit though that due to time travelling, some facts in the movies were conflicted.
  • X-Men: First Class (2011)
  • X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014)
  • X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)
  • X-Men: Apocalypse (2016)
  • X-Men: Dark Phoenix (2019)
  • X-Men (2000)
  • X2: X-Men United (2003)
  • X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)
  • The Wolverine (2013)
  • Logan (2017)

A couple of months back, we also watched the entire series of the Harry Potter movies. The kids loved it! Watched The Boss Baby: Family Business a few weeks ago, but both the wife and I dozed off during the movie. Wasn't as good as the first one.

The 2 best movies we've watched so far this year are still playing on Netflix; Wish Dragon and The Mitchells vs. The Machines. They're hilarious! Highly recommended.
