A Short Vacation

We just got back from a very short vacation in Kota Kinabalu. We flew there on Monday and spent 3 days just lazying around the hotel and enjoying fresh seafood everyday. It was also Daanish's first time going on a plane and he was very excited and surprisingly, very well behaved too.

We stayed at Le Meridian, which was conveniently located across the famous KK Night Market. On our first night there, we had dinner at Ocean Seafood Village, one of the largest seafood restaurants and also said to be one of the best in town. They have what's called "walk-in menu" where you get to pick what you wanna eat right from the aquariums. Super fresh, super tasty, super affordable!

Second night was far less extravagant. We packed our dinner from the KK Night Market; steamed rice, sotong bakar, and lobster bakar, all for RM60. Very cheap, but very yummy!

We didn't do much aside from taking Daanish for a swim, taking a stroll around town, and shop for local tidbits such as keropok cincin. It rained almost everyday, so there wasn't a whole lot of opportunity for outdoor activities anyway.

It was a very relaxing week indeed. We need to make time for more vacations like this!
